The Gift Shop

When you tour the Scholte House you will want to allow time to visit our beautiful Gift Shop where you will find Delft items of all kinds, as well as other things to remind you of your visit to Pella.  Prices range from upscale items to small souvenirs, as well as our Children’s Corner.

Scholte House Interior

Take a look inside the family home of Dominie Hendrik Scholte and his wife Mareah.  Each room contains furnishings, artifacts, and original artwork belonging to the family.

The Gardens

During a walk around the gardens you’ll enjoy beautiful flowers April through September.  30,000 bulbs are planted each year for our Tulip Time festival in May, then all the beds are replanted with beautiful annuals to enjoy the rest of the summer.  Even wintertime is beautiful at Scholte House.

Christmas

Christmas time at Scholte House means decorations and 15 lighted trees in the rooms.  Plus, our annual Christmas Walk & Tea invites visitors to enjoy the music and freshments of an old fashioned Christmas tea.

Frontier Experience

Our most recent exhibit this past Fall, ”The Frontier Experience” featured life in the early 1840′s prior to the Dutch settlers arriving.  There was information and displays about the early pioneers and the Indians in the area, along with a special display on Laura Ingalls Wilder’s “Little House on the Prairie”.
