The Museum Store
When you tour the Scholte House you will want to allow time to visit our beautiful Museum Store where you will find Delft items of all kinds, as well as other things to remind you of your visit to Pella. Prices range from upscale items to small souvenirs, as well as our Children’s Corner.
Scholte House Interior
Take a look inside the family home of Dominie Hendrik Scholte and his wife Mareah. Each room contains furnishings, artifacts, and original artwork belonging to the family.
During a walk around the gardens you’ll enjoy beautiful flowers April through September. 32,000 bulbs are planted each year for our Tulip Time festival in May, then all the beds are replanted with beautiful annuals to enjoy the rest of the summer. Even wintertime is beautiful at Scholte House.
Christmas time at Scholte House means holiday decorations and our annual Christmas Tea. We invite visitors to enjoy the music and refreshments of an old fashioned Christmas tea. Call 641-628-3684 for date, cost and registration information.
Civil War Exhibit
Our most recent special exhibit was the Civil War Sesquicentennial Exhibit and the affect it had on Pella and Marion County. 2,173 people toured the exhibit during the two months it was open. A mini version of the exhibit is still on display at Scholte House and can be viewed during our regular hours of Mon-Sat 1-4. There was a great connection between Dominie Scholte and President Lincoln and there are many artifacts to enjoy showing that history here at Scholte House and we invite you to visit us sometime.
