	Sketching Tips	Use short strokes with the charcoal pencil Don't worry about details Draw what you see Capture basic shapes and outlines Look for the light and contrasting dark areas in your subject Vary the pressure on your charcoal pencil while drawing Try smudging the charcoal lines with your finger to fill in darker spots and shadows Use an eraser to make light spots on the sketch, or clean up the drawing Place your paper on different surfaces, like a sidewalk, to give your sketch texture
