| Nov. 15 - Dec. 31, 2009 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Evergreens, birds, berries, angels, wreaths and candles combine to create a festive holiday atmosphere for the 26th annual Christmas Walk through the Pella Historical Village. Begin your Christmas tour in the lavishly decorated Interpretive Center. The miller's quarters in the Vermeer Windmill echo the Village's traditional Dutch holiday spirit. The childhood home of Frontier Deputy Marshal Wyatt Earp, is decorated in frosty white poinsettias with blue and silver accents. Upstairs, garlands of pink roses welcome the holiday season. A Christmas Walk favorite is a stop in the Dutch Bakery for a complementary cup of coffee, tea or cocoa with a Jaarsma St. Nick cookie.
Woolly mittens and elves turn the black smith's shop into a fanciful
scene. Christmas frogs and a garden theme surround the crackling fire in the log cabin.
Snowmen peek through the windows of the pottery shop while patriotic bears
give an election year salute from the Weerkplaats wooden shoe shop window. It's a sunflower Christmas in the Old Mill and a North Woods theme fills the Van Spankeren Store with twig and moose decorations. Sun bonnet dolls host the season in the Farm House filled with red work embroidery. The highlights of the Scholte Church are a 10-foot Christmas tree and Victorian decorations. Outside, the Village lawn shines like a Christmas jewel as thousands of tiny lights come on at dusk. ![]() Christmas Walk admission includes complimentary coffee time in the Dutch Bakery.
