Tulip Bulbs are being dug on the Historical Society properties from May 14 – May 19. The bulbs may be picked up from the driveway on the East side of the Historical Village or by the gates of the Scholte gardens. Please bring your own bags to put them in and don’t leave any of the foliage on the driveways.

New Tulip Bulbs can still be ordered from the Pella Garden Club using this order form  http://www.pellatuliptime.com/wp-content/uploads/pages/tulip-order.pdf. These bulbs are large and are the ones that are planted in all of the City  and Pella Historical beds. Bulbs from last year are nice but usually do not grow as tall the 2nd year and don’t bloom at 100%. This web editor purchases these bulbs each year. Bulbs from big box stores are less expensive but usually you get what you pay for.

Tulip Time Update:

5/16/12

It is hard to believe Tulip Time was almost 2 weeks ago. Everything was perfect except for the tulips. All 6 parades were held without a drop of rain, the streets were scrubbed spotless, only a few Dutch dancer shoes flew into the crowd and smiles were everywhere. Already anticipating Tulip Time 2013, May 2, 3, & 4. Hundreds of volunteers contributed to the success of this year and Pella Historical says thank you, we’re looking forward to working with you on other projects throughout 2012.
